When you’re having a bad day it can feel overwhelming and exhausting to think about how to improve your mood.
Still, before you throw in the towel and reach for the bag of chips or sit on the couch to binge on Netflix, check out these 7 simple ways you can improve your mood and feel happier.

Fresh air and sunlight are very helpful for brightening up a bummed-out mood.
Take a stroll in the park or just a quick lap around your neighborhood. Even sitting out on your patio or porch will give you the fresh air and natural light to improve your mood.

LISTEN TO UPBEAT MUSIC TO PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE AND IMPROVE YOUR MOOD
Upbeat music is a great tool for improving your mood any time of the day.
Put together a few positive and upbeat playlist on your Spotify account. They can be your goto songs. Almost immediately you will start to lighten up!

Similar to smiling, laughing — even if you don’t really want to — can help trick your mind into improving your mood. Do a Youtube search for “Comedy” and you will be able to choose from a plethora of funny videos! You can laugh your heart out right from your own living room.

CALL A LOVED ONE TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR MOOD
Calling a loved one is a fantastic way to help bring you joy and improve your mood. Especially if calling that person will also bring them joy! Making others feel good helps mood as well as remind you of some of the caring people in your life who want you to be happy.

Physical movement releases endorphins, which seriously improves your mood.
Daily activity, even if it’s just 20 minutes, will help to release those endorphins and make you feel better. Morning is an ideal time for daily activity, which can have a positive impact on your mood for the rest of the day.

Self care, as basic as it sounds, is one of the best ways to bring about happiness. Get your nails done, do a spa night, put on some comfy PJ’s and watch your favorite movie. Anything that makes you happy, on your terms.

Decluttering your living spaces will help to not only make your environment a better place to be in, but it will also helps improve your mood through getting rid of things that don’t bring you any happiness.
